It is a new airport completed 27km to the southeast of Mataram, the provincial capital on October 1, 2011.
This new international airport provides the runway of 3,000m class where the airliners such as B747 or A330 can take off and land. It also allows smooth access to Kuta.
From this new international airport, you can get the view of Mt Rinjani (Gunung Rinjani), the third highest mountain of Indonesia. The mountaineers all over the world have been admiring the majestic sight of Lake Segara Anak that spreads in the crater.
It takes 30 minutes from Lombok International Airport to Kuta of South Lombok.
